Nancy Isabella Douglas
Nancy Isabella Douglas is the daughter of Burrell Douglas Sr. and Mary Ann Strickland. She is first listed on the 1850 Hamilton County, GA with her father, Burrell and mother, Mary and her brother James. She then appears on the 1860 Wayne County, GA census in the household of her father Burrell Douglas and her mother, Mary and her siblings, James, William, Henry, Jane and Seaborn. In 1860 in Wayne County, GA Nancy married Moses Manning. Evidently Moses Manning was killed during the Civil War.
Then we find Nancy on 1870 Ware County, GA census next to her father Burrell, in the house of Alexander Eunice, with a child named Mary Ann. At that time she had taken her maiden name of Douglas again. Sometimes between 1870 and 1880 Nancy married a Diles/Dyals, first name unknown. Because on the 1880 Lower Forks, Lowndes County, GA census she is next door to Alexander Eunice with the last name of Diles and her children, Martin born circa 1872, Burrell born circa 1875, Henry born circa 1877 and Julia born circa 1879.
She would soon married Alexander Eunice because his wife was dead before 1880. So Nancy and Alexander would marry in Lowndes County, GA. and later they would settle in Worth County, GA just outside of Sylvester, GA. Her children that had the last name of Diles are listed now on census records with the last name of Eunice. Nancy can be found on the 1900, 1910 and 1920 Worth County, GA census. Alexander Eunice was a minister of the gospel. On his tombstone he is listed as Rev. Alexander Eunice. Nancy would die first and when Alexander passed away they laid him to rest by Nancy in Worth County, GA.
