From left to right is Aunt Mollie, Sarah Mercer, Dempsey Mercer, Polly Ann Douglas, Henry Douglas, Ella Douglas, Seaborn Douglas and seated in front is James Henry Douglas.

Henry Douglas was born April 2, 1852 in Wayne County, GA (His tombstone has his birth year 1842 but his father and mother was not married by this time and the earlier census records points more to 1852) He is the son of Burrell Douglas Sr. and Mary Ann Strickland.

The first record that we see Henry on is the 1860 Wayne County, GA census and he is in the household of his father Burrell Douglas Sr. Also in the house is his mother Mary and siblings, James, Nancy, William, Jane and Seaborn.

Then we see him on the 1870 Ware County, GA census in his father Burrell Douglas Sr.'s house along with his siblings William, Jane, Seaborn, Mary Ann and Burrell Jr. Also Nancy Carter and her son resides in the same house. He married Polly Ann Strickland in Ware County, GA and their children were Viney born August 25, 1876, Rosa born June 11, 1877, Julia born March 15, 1880, Mary Elizabeth born July 1, 1883, William Burrell born September 9, 1884, Sarah Jane born January 18, 1886, James Henry born December 1, 1888, Ella Lee born November 9, 1891.

Henry is on the 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930 Schlatterville, Pierce County, GA, which is present day Brantley County, GA. In 1930, none of Henry's brothers or sisters are alive. He outlived all of them.

Henry had a physical condition that he would sweat blood. At different times he would wander aimlessly in the fields and woods. And when the family would find him he would be in a pool of blood. And there would be times that people would doubt that it even happened. When people doubted, Henry would pull out his handkerchief and wipe his brow and there would be a red substance showing up on the handkerchief. Henry did not die from this condition, rather he would die from typhoid fever on April 22, 1936. He is buried in the High Bluff Cemetery in Brantley County, GA which is near Hoboken, GA.
