Family Resemblance is a website that was created to be able to tell the story about the Douglas Family. I came up with the website title thinking back to when I started my family research. I went to talk to Nell Easterling Bowen, the granddaughter of Henry and Polly Ann Douglas, to find out what I could about our Douglas family. Now you have to know, I had never met Nell before and she did not know who I was.  She came to the door, and I told her who I was and the reason for the visit, and she said "COME ON IN, YOU LOOK LIKE A DOUGLAS." At that visit Nell showed me her grandfather, Henry Douglas's gun, that he named "Old Rabbit Ear". She also shared some old family photos  and that day she gave me my great-grandfather, Seaborn Douglas's picture. I want to preserve our family history and present the genealogical research that I found about this family. And I want to be able to share and preserve the family folklores of Burrell Douglas Sr. and his descendants who lived in Ware, Brantley and Pierce County, GA. These interesting stories has been
handed down from generation to generation.
I have included a link to my other website, to be able to show the Douglas Family tree. This goes back to William de Douglas, who lived in the Lanarkshire, Scotland area, near the Douglas Water. This is the area where the Douglas name came from. The name in Gaelic is pronounced "Dubh-ghlas which means "black water" or "dark stream". Here is the link to my website called The Dark Stream - The Douglas Family Story : https://silasdouglas4058.wixsite.com/darkstream
