Family Resemblance
FAIRLAWN SCHOOL - TAKEN CIRCA 1893 PHOTO COURTESY OF TERESA GRIFFIS
This was taken in the Woodard - Godwin Community, circa 1893, and it was located in Ware County, GA. The old school building is no longer around and has vanished with time, but a memory had been preserved with this photo. In this photo their are several families from the area that shows up. One of those families is the Douglas family, the descendants of Burrell Douglas Sr., who settled their with his little family, after owning Land Lot #443 in 1862. This land is in the 8th District of Ware County, GA in the Okefenokee Swamp. They moved there circa 1865 after the Civil War. The members of the Douglas family along with the others are listed in the document below.
