The orgin of the Conley name comes from an old Gaelic term "Ó Conghalaigh", which means "fierce as a wolf". The Conley Family goes back hundreds of years in the Cork County, Ireland area. This research is to preserve this Conley's family story. The Conley name is written different ways in Ireland's records such as O'Connolly, Connolly and Connelly. Cork County is in the southern part of and the largest county in Ireland. It is located in the Munster Providence. Ireland also has a lot of Catholic Parishes and the one that will be mention a lot in this research is the Cloyne Parish which is located in Cork County. This certain Conley family's story goes back to the 1700's. It will take from Cloyne Parish in the 1700's to the port of Cobh, Ireland in 1840's to the port of New York Harbor located in the United States of America. From this immigrant, John B. Conley, came this certain Conley family spread out in the southern part of Georgia. This is a work in progress and the journey will take you into the present day.
